This solution contains VisualRIP plus
a lay-out and tiling module. .
Generalities
Display
The file display is one of the strong
point of the Caldera Graphics technology.
The display is multi-view and calibrated
and offers a super quick zoom.
It has to be seen to be believed !
Support of raster
files
A maximum openness for an easy file management!
Support of the most common raster files
in RGB, CMYK, gray levels in 1, 8, 16
bits per colour component.
This function of files management also
allows the support of the alpha-channel
and the extra-plans for the reading and
writing of the Kodak PhotoCD files (Base/64
to 1024Base).
WorkFlow / Automation
The power of automatic data processing
for more productivity :
The workflow allows a 100% graphic definition
of the automatic processes. The name can
be defined as many times as wished and
this functionnality also allows a constant
visualisation of the activity, as well
as the logs and files that have been processed.
The workflows enable the creation of macro-commands
for the automation of the tasks. These
are very usefull for the automation of
the data workflows processing
(scanned images, files that have been
read or transmitted from other workstations).
All the processes (calibration, text addition,
logo addition...) will be automatically
made at the moment of the scanning or
the reading of the finished image. Therefore,
it is possible for any user to perform
complex tasks.
Image retouch
It is possible to work on the images thanks
to the following tools : the pencils,
pipette, clone, transparency management
tools on 256 levels, the paint functions,
lighter and darker options, smooth, blur,
shift and resizing tools, text creation
etc...
Moreover, it is not necessary to start
a specialised application to make last-minute
modifications.
Image processing
Image processing and colorimetrical modifications
can be made very easily. Powerful tools
allow to make precise colour corrections
without any specific knowledge in colorimetrical
sciences.
ICC
Calibration
ICColor: the colour calibration motor
develloped by Caldera Graphics follows
the latest technical evolutions in the
field of colour calibration.
Each peripheral of the graphic chain (scanner,
screen) and each paper/ink combination
may be characterized by an ICC profile
allowing the corrections of the deteriorations
bread by the digital datas. It allows
to detect and extract profiles integrated
in the files and offers the possibility
to select a different profile for each
entity (raster or vectorial, RGB, CMYK,
gray levels...).
The ICC motor allows to manage the changes
of color spaces of an image, displays
the gamuts of the screen, printer and
scanner, as well as the gamuts of the
simulated printer. It allows a soft proofing
on the screen or at the moment of the
print.
This system also offers a profile-library,
with a calibrated display, in order to
manage the tasks in the best conditions
possible.
Composition
Now, anybody can create montages, compostions
or posters.
Various types of images can be associated
on the same page (vectorial, raster, RGB,
CMYK):the software manages all the conversions
and rasterisations automatically.
Moreover, it is possible to create and
keep templates.
All one needs to do is to let the imagination
guide him.
Printing
Media of all constructors are available
at the installation but the user still
has the possibility to add a new one,
to manage the position of the image on
the pages, to choose the printing resolution.
When it comes to colour calibration, the
user can also determine the management
of the linearisation of the printer, create
ink curves or establish a connection with
a densitometer or simply use the ICC profiles
installed in standard and that offer an
optimum result.
Printing spooler
The management of the waiting tasks is
a key function of any production system.
The operator can have a look at all the
printers on the list of the tasks going
on, the tasks that have been ended and
the ones pending.
Moreover, the CostProof function allows
to calculate the cost of a printing task
before having started it!
Tiling
For the tiling, the multi-tiling printing
or the poster creation.
The tiling tool allows to print a poster
meant to be used for a stand. This function
develloped by Caldera Graphics allows
to create posters very quickly by determining
the printing size and parameters. It allows
to make very big prints, even bigger than
the physical size of the printer.
The user can define a trimming zone between
each tile and the
Caldera Graphics technology optimizes
the printing time and the paper loss.
HotFolder /
Mac-PC Connection
The Hotfolders are folders in which the
files are detected in order to be sent
to a workflow.
Cost Management
The Cost Proof allows to automatically
calculate the cost of a printing task,
on any printer. The user only needs to
send the image and the software calculates
the cost bread by the inks and the paper
used. The strength of the Cost Proof is
to calculate it before the printing.
VisualUser
The VisualUser application is installed
on a single machine but can be used from
several workstations. It is, in essence,
a remote display system which allows the
user to view a computing 'desktop' environment
not only on the machine where it is running,
but from anywhere on the Internet and
from a wide variety of machine architectures
(MAC, PC, Unix workstations...).
Applied to Caldera Graphics software packages,
it now possible to set-up at a very affordable
price additionnal user workstations. VisualUser
is especially interresting for any user
having a package including the composition/tiling
module (such as VisualRip+ & ReproShop).
In is available in option in all Caldera
packages and freely in the CopySHOP and
GrandRIP suites.
This solution is available as an option
for all our software solutions.
Caldera Graphics is the firt RIP editor
in the world to offer such a functionnality
at such a low price. For the user, it
represents a great opportunity in terms
of business and development.
